ANTIMO Foods
Antimo Foods was formed in 1997 to develop unique cafe style restaurants and coffee shops based on over twenty years experience gained by the owners in related business.
The founding family were the pioneers of South Africa’s first and best-known coffee shop brand, “The Brazilian” coffee shops, which they established in 1982. At the time of the sale of the business in 1994, there were 27 Brazilian coffee shops located in the major metropolitan centres in South Africa.
Following expiry of a restraint of trade agreed with the purchasers of the Brazilian coffee business, Fego Caffé was founded and has since 1997 opened 32 stores throughout South Africa. Fego Caffé was then developed to include a deli counter under the Europa brand, which currently has 33 stores open in South Africa.
Antimo Foods was created following the success of the Fego Caffe and Europa concepts to consolidate and expand the business operations to include the opening of Fego Caffé’s in several cinema complexes and book stores.
Antimo is now recognised in South Africa as one of the leading operators of “casual eating” restaurants and coffee shops.
